The effective date of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (the “FFCRA”) has arrived. The U.S. Department of Labor (“DOL”) and Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) continue to provide additional guidance. The U.S. Department of Labor has issued its temporary regulation to implement the FFCRA, which tracks previous Q&A guidance from the DOL. The IRS has issued its own Q&A guidance, as well as a new form for claiming tax credits. In addition to summarizing further input related to the administration of paid leaves and tax credits, we have developed a template leave request form for our clients’ use.
