Connor focuses his practice in all areas of school law with a concentration in litigation, labor and employment, and student issues. Teri Engler received the “Christi Flores Volunteer Spirit Award” from the IAASE at its 2022 Fall Conference. The award was especially meaningful as Dr. Flores, who passed away in May, was a longtime colleague and friend of Teri’s and client of our firm.

Before joining ECB&S, Ryan worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Civil Actions Bureau of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office followed by working as litigation counsel for a nationwide property and casualty insurer.

The 2020 ECBS Scholarship for the Institute for Law and the Workplace, Chicago-Kent College of Law, was awarded to Shanti Brantley (JD ’21.) Shanti graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy. At Chicago-Kent, she is a member of the Black Law Students Association. In the summer of 2020, she interned with FedEx in the legal department as a member of the Employment Law practice group. A big congratulations to Shanti!

We are pleased to announce that Abby Rogers has joined our firm as senior counsel. Abby focuses her practice on general labor matters and counseling clients in all aspects of the employment relationship and compliance with employment laws. She has experience in particular with FMLA and medical and disability issues in the workplace, technology issues, drug testing, employment discrimination and employee discipline matters. Abby represents employers in related labor arbitrations, administrative and judicial proceedings and values working preemptively with clients to manage litigation risks.
