Late in the day on August 31, Dr. Carmen Ayala, Illinois State Superintendent, issued her weekly message, which included ISBE’s interpretation of Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order 2021-20 regarding mandatory vaccinations for school personnel and the limited circumstances where weekly COVID testing would serve as an alternative to mandatory vaccinations.
