COVID-19 Staffing Update

Early on March 17th, 2020, the Office of the Governor, Illinois Education Association, Illinois Federation of Teachers, Illinois Association of School Administrators, Illinois Principals Association and Illinois State Board of Education issued a Joint Statement on staffing implications of the designated Act of God Days for the current mandatory school closure from March 17, 2020 through March 30, 2020.  In short, the Joint Statement announces that all school district employees on the district’s payroll will be paid as if school were functioning normally and affirms that districts can expect employees to participate in work activities in some form.  We have prepared an updated FAQ (as a follow-up to the updated guidance ECB&S sent on March 16th) in response, here.
