On April 3, 2025, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) issued a press release stating that State Educational Agencies (SEAs) will be required to sign certification forms affirming compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. According to the press release, SEAs will be responsible for reporting on their state overall and for collecting certification responses from their Local Educational Agencies (LEAs).
